    Oil on valve rockers

Looking at my '58s rockers, I notice that most rockers have a nice puddle ofg oil in the low (valve) end, but several are almost dry. #s 3, 6, and 8 exhaust have the least oil puddled.
    1. Is this a sign of inadequate oiling, or is the amount at each valve variable depending upon the relative position in the rotation?
    2. Are there some prudent checks I might make prior to reassembly of intake and valve covers?
The valve covers have been off for 3 months, but covered by plastic, while awaiting replacement intake components for assembly.
    Thanks, ... Al '58 #378 245hp

Carefully check the valve adjustment, then prelube the engine 4 times, rotating the crankshaft 90deg between each prelube. Observe the oil flow to the valves during and after each cycle. You should see very similar flow to each valve.
