    Vacuum Advance

What port is used for vacuum advance on a 1962 300HP? Hollow left rear stud like the 340HP?

Base engine and 300 hp use a hoillow stud. 340 Hp & FI use the 0002 90 degree fitting at the rear of the carbutetor.

1962 SHP and FI did not have vacuum advance, but it was added to the '63 versions of these engines by replacing the '62 dual point distributor with a conventional tach drive single point distributor.

Of course! BUT there was a vacuum PORT for windshield washers etc on BOTH the 340 Hp and 360 Hp engines.. The FITTING to utilize this vacuum is the subject, I believe, of this question.

Actually, the original question was on vaccum advance, but I didn't think of the vacuum wipers. In fact, I don't think I was even aware that '62s still used vacuum rather than electric wipers.

I remember vacuum wipers from the Williams family '54 Pontiac Catalina Coupe that I drove for a few months after I got my license and before the SWC arrived. I remember that every time I floored that mother the wipers would stop, and I had to floor that old flathead straight-eight a lot! To compound matters, it rained a lot in Seattle! The SWC's two-speed electric wipers were much appreciated, not to mention that SHP engine.
