CAN ANY ONE TELL ME THE NAME AND PH # OR EMAIL ADDRESS OF THE PERSON THAT REBUILDS THE WATER PUMPS, AND INSTALLS THE BIGGER PROPELLER IN THEM FOR MORE WATER FLOW?

Arthur Gould is a fellow who has developed a very good reputation for excellent work, fast service and fair prices. I think that you will find his contact info in the archives. However, as far as I know, neither Arthur nor anyone else installs a larger rotor in Chevrolet V-8 water pumps. As far as I know, it's not even possible to install a larger rotor; the rotor cavity of the pump is pretty well filled by the stock rotor.
Some folks do install a plate on the back of the rotors to improve cooling flow and prevent pump cavitation. However, this mod is only applicable to later, stamped-steel type rotors. Earlier pumps used a cast iron rotor. The cast iron rotor will perform as well as the stamped steel with the rivetted-on backing plate. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: WATER PUMP REBULID
You 'can' do it yourself using rebuild kit listed in catalogs (C-Central, Chicago Corvette) and following the steps given in shop manual.
On the issue of impeller, I have seen several variations based on size and angle of fins. But, moving more water per fixed time interval may NOT be the answer.... There have been several lively discussions on this (field theory, heat transfer, Etc.) that basically ended in a parallel to the old TV series "Designer Knows Best"....- Top

Re: WATER PUMP REBULID
I recommend that you use the correct OEM impeller, but have the rebuilder replace the standard 5/8" double ball bearing with the 5/8" ball/roller bearing.
This is a standerd SAE 5/8" water pump bearing, but the front row of balls
are replaced by rollers.
This should substantially improve bearing life.

Re: WATER PUMP REBULID
It should be available from any water pump rebuilder. I have a local rebuilder do my work, and they offered the upgraded bearing as a possible solution to the short water pump life I seem to experience in all my cars. Never had an OEM pump make it to 50K miles.
Externally they conform to the SAE 5/8" size, but there are marks on the shaft to indicate whether it is the ball/ball or ball/roller type bearing.
The ball/roller bearing was used on some engines that had a lot of accessories, but I think all C2s were originally the ball/ball type, and that's what most rebuilders use. Later Chevy engines - beginning in '69 I think - upgraded the bearing to a SAE 3/4" size, and I think they are available in both ball/ball and ball roller.
Whenever you rebuild a pump, it pays to upgrade the bearing if the standared one is the ball/ball type.

Re: WATER PUMP REBULID
Art Gould just restored a '70 waterpump which Jack Humphrey found for me after I found an incorrect '70 waterpump. Anyways, his turnaround was REALLY fast and this thing came back looking FABULOUS. I haven't installed it yet though but I've got every confidence it'll be great. ~Juliet
