      Re: The missing Switch

      To all,

Interesting thread, my 65 roadster suffers from the missing backup light switch syndrome. Thanks to the information in this thread I know where and what to look for in the wiring harness area, as I have yet to find any wires in the vicinity of the transmission. Should the connector from the harness reach the transmission, and does the switch have a very short pigtail on it? The lights are in tact, and wires feed to the rear harness, I guess that is a step in the right direction.

      Thanks for the information,

      George

        George -

The back-up light wiring on my 65 penetrates the firewall along with the windshield wiper drive wiring (among others). The connector is only about 6" to 8" off the firewall. I checked the wire colors last night and they are as posted, 18B/P and 18B/LG. If you buy the switch, it will have a long pig tail on it to reach this connector.

          Thank You Both

The Cad Drawings are great. After looking at them I don't think I would have had the patience to finish it. The colors would probably drive me crazy. Plus I spend to much time with Acad at work.

What could be a better place to do them....

              Ric,

Thanks for the information, I will look for it in that location tomorrow morning.
