65 Vin tag

The Vin tag on my car matches the origional title bot the rivits are different than on the style tag. On the VIN tag above the # is Cheverolet 00. Is this a non original Vin tag and since it matches the Original title is it of significant value or concern?

I think that if you recheck you will find "Chevrolet DD"". the dealers were supposed to hand stamp in the delivery date (DD) but I don't think many did.

All '65 vin tag rivits looked diffeent than the trim tag because they are much smaller in daimeter. The early serial number vin rivits were circular like the trim tag rivits but smaller in diameter, later in the model year, a switch was made to a small diameter rivit with a scalloped appearance around the outer edge

Add-on: The use of rosette style rivets began shortly after the strike (in the early December '64 timeframe) with some skew between St. Louis and AO Smith body sites, if my memory serves....

I've got two mid-Dec-early Jan cars with the round rivits, S/n between 5000-6500

Jack, I have a 1965 Convertible that was built approx January 28th, 1965. It has an AOS body build of F21 (Jan/21/65). The original undisturbed serial number plate, is attached with non-rosette rivets. Dave

PS: Bill message reminded me. Car is in 8100 Serial Number Range. Dave
