Painting the line in the interior trim

Does anyone have suggestions on how to paint the black stripe back onto the straight and u trim pieces on interior door panel trim parts. There must be a better way than masking and spraying. The tape tends to pull the paint off along the edges.

    Thanks.

Just looked in the 69-72 vette vues fact book how the door trim items are looking. In the book it looks like the paint is only on the deeper parts of the trim pieces and the embossed part is chrome.
You should be able to spray the parts and wipe off the paint from the embossed part of the trim pieces with a cloth (not too soft, old blue jeans should work good) soaked in thinner. You do not want to use a soft cloth because it wipes off the paint in the deeper parts too.
I have tried this with the rallye wheel hubcaps and it worked like a charm.
