To all my fellow straight axle friends, I have just completed a overhaul of my dash housing and now I am putting it all back. Well, dumb me didn't take a photo or draw something to help me with the reassemble of the turn signal unit inside of the hub. What I need is for some wonderful reader here to either take a picture of their hub minus the steering wheel or tell me where I can find a detailed photo. I do not want to damage my turn signal unit and want it all put back correctly. I greatly appreciate anyone's help here. Best Regards, Craig Willetts

A note of caution
The turn signal cancelling mechanism in this era straight axle can be a tricky devil. Self cancelling return operation depends upon specific geometry. If there's much wear in the T/S switch mounting hardware inside the steering column hub, the attaching hardware isn't torqued down snugly OR the hub isn't rigidly 'locked' against the upper steering column tube, you will have 'slop' that will interfere with proper center-return of the T/S switch.
The switch is a break before make design, intended to transfer electrical control from running light/brake light mechanisms to the T/S flasher mechanism. All this says if you engage the turn signal, make a turn and the cancelling mechanism doesn't put the TS switch SMACK DAB back in the center, you can wind up in no-man's land! In no-man's land, you'll have NO rear lamp function!!!!!!- Top
