Re: My dilemma......
Hum, the name here is "Technical Discussion Board".... Seems like the lion's share of your post is about economic content. Anything can be fixed (for the right price). Why not tell the dealer/seller to go get the car fixed to your satisfaction and you'll close on the deal you'd already agreed to?- Top

Re: My dilemma......
these bumpers cannot be repaired once they dry out . both front & rear will crack . the fiberglass rear replacements look close but it is not quite the same .you will also need to add/remove a little meterial from the qt pnls. to get a half way good fit.for a driver that could use paint anyway its a good deal. As a car dealer....
they knocked off a dime on a real car. Buy it, even a pro cannot tell you what the car is worth within a 1000. So you gotta find a bumper, beats rebuilding a t..d, oops, excuse me, a junker. My dad always told me that you can't pay too much for a nice car. My 2c. Regards, Larry- Top

Re: My dilemma......
Chuck, it is still the same car. Have the dealer fix the car to your satisfaction. it may take a new bumper cover or a simple repair, If the repair is done right nobody will be able to tell, bring a friend and the both of you can inspect the repair. if it is ok then put the top down and drive it home. if it is not right, then have them do it right, or you can walk away.

Jim....do you know
how the judging went? This is sort of what I was trying to get at...how is this repair viewed in the eyes of NCRS? It's not necessarily important right now, as I don't plan on having the car judged, but down the road I'd like to know where this car would stand in the eyes of Bloomington or NCRS if and when I go to sell it, or if I eventually DO decide to have it judged.
Thanks.

Re: Jim....do you know
Chuck I don't know how the judging turned out. We used to live in the same town and we were in the same Corvette club when he changed to the fiberglass. Later when he took it to Bloomington I had moved, but knew about him taking the car for judging.- Top
