    Convertible top hardware

Are the screws that hold the front weatherstripping on the convertible top of a '67 supposed to be painted black? Also what type screws are used to secure the chrome back male guide pins, that go into the rear deck, to the top frame? Do they have washers?
    Thanks.

There were no screws in the front piece of weatherstrip. There were a couple in the forward side pieces. They are dark oxide or black as I recall. The other tabs are held by the little push in buttons (black). The screws in the rear pin are pan heads and are chrome or bright cad. plated and they do have flat washers. All staples in the front bead (winlace) are covered by the flap and do not show.
