Holley Carb Fuel Inlet

The common fuel inlet for a Holley carb is the "banjo" type with a nipple for a rubber hose. I'm looking to run a metal line from the fuel pump to the carb. Is there a 90 degree inlet for these carbs that takes a metal line? (Sorry I don't know the terminology for the fittings.) I have a drop-down air cleaner, so I need the immediate downward pointing inlet.

(Yeah, yeah, I know. Buy an AFB. That's coming later.)

Almost every Corvette fuel-line/carb connection that I know of uses a metal line. Find the one for your car using the Holley carb. May be a different year set-up but you should be able to find a combo that will fit your setup.

Perhaps you have a '64-5 2818 or a replacement 1850 Holley. If so, then you will have to change the primary bowl. The flare nut fittings available that will mount directly to your existing fuel bowl will point toward the driver's fender.

If you install a '66-7 type primary bowl, it will have a female flare nut fitting that faces forward at a downward angle to clear the air cleaner. I've got an old bowl with a threaded inlet out there in the shop if you need it.

I just went through this installation (new Holley on a '66 coupe w/327). Rather than change the fuel bowl, I was able to get a brass elbow fitting (point it down at about 45 degrees) and the proper adapters at the hardware store. Another consideration is that this type of Holley does not have an intergral filter as the original style does so if you use it plumb in an inline fuel filter.
