I recently purchased a knock off wheel for a spare from a guy that used to have a 63SWC. There is no provision for a pin, and Western Wheel Corp. K-H is stamped on the back. Could this possibly be an early repro? Thanks George

Re: knock off ID
Yep, it's one of the earliest 'repro' wheels and probably the closest look-alike to the original KH part. Western used KH tooling and there are only very subtle differences between it and a real McCoy....
Problem for you is why do you want KO for a '63? There were only a handful of cars that got them (virtually ALL built/shipped for GM internal consumption). The current '63-64 Judging Guide reads:
"1963 - the P48 option is not available for any 1963 model. Full deduction for Wheels and Wheelcovers if equipped."
If you've got a driver car and like the looks, you're A-OK. But, the above suggests MAJOR deduction(s) if you show the car with any form of KO's on it....- Top

Another take
I have a early set of Western repros - bought them from the infamous T. Michaelis, when they had a store in Burbank, CA in the late seventies. Mine say "Western Wheel".
Didn't Kelsey Hayes end up buying Western Wheel in the eighties and then Kelsey Hayes themselve were acquired later on?
My hunch is that George's wheels with "Western Wheel Corp. K-H" are later than mine.
