I see two versions of the early C-3 A/C control panel. One has A "T" shaped face plastic face and the other has two squares at the top if the "T" with a divider between the words FAN and HI. Which is correct for what years?

Re: A/C control panel Question
If memory serves, the dividing point is at '72. Earlier control panels had two discrete sections (fan control and temperature controls) with 4-spd fan being labeled FAN on one side and OFF on the other. The temperature control section used no coloring (just HOT/COLD for the LH thumbwheel).
In '72, the two sections were joined in 'T' shaped cosmetics with the fan control labeled OFF on one side and HI on the other. The temperature control section featured red/blue coloring to accent the function of the LH thumbwheel.- Top

Re: A/C control panel Question *TL*
There is a drawing in the 1970-1972 TIM&JG (page 13 in the third edition) that shows the start of the T shape as 1972, but the red, white and blue is, as Reba states, much later. I am not sure either, but the tri-color version was the service replacement control when it was available.

Re: A/C control panel Question *TL*
Could be more Larry.
Since we segregate ourselves into 1968-1972, 1972-1977, 1978-1982. Who judges in all those areas and knows all the details of the heater/AC control panel? I suspect the answer is not too many people, maybe none.
