    1960 cowl vent

Is the wire screen covering the cowl vent supposed to be painted body color, black out, or unpainted? There is a vertical metal strip in the center. Is it supposed to be painted? It looks like it was body color at one time. If painted, what color?

Second Issue for a 1960: What is the purpose of the spring behind the window rollup handle? Neither of my handles have springs behind them. Does the round, foam weather seal install with cup side toward interior of car? I need to replace driver's window handle. Is there a design problem with the handles advertised as "foreign"?

    Re: 1960 cowl vent

    Joe,
The screen and solid strip should be body color, the bottom portion has a thin coat of paint. I think the cowl vent was open when the body passed through the paint booth.

Sorry I can't help you with the window crank handle.

    Best from Connecticut..........Mark
