What is the purpose of the spring behind the window rollup handle? Neither of my handles have springs behind them. Does the round, foam weather seal install with cup side toward interior of car? I need to replace driver's window handle. Is there a design problem with the handles advertised as "foreign"? Since my car is a "driver" does the "foreign" part matter?

The spring (large end out) g9oes behind the door panel and keeps you from having a gap behind the window crank. The foreign repo can be readily identified as a reepo by those who look for that sort of thing. It will do a perfectly good job of raising and lowering your window.
