    Muffler for diverter valve

I have 2 part numbers for the muffler on the diverter valve (part of the air injection pump) They are 1492575 and 3938790. The application is a 1969 L46 (350/350. Anyone know which one is correct? Thanks

Neither are correct. The GM #1492575 is applicable to many pre-69 style diverter valves as well as 1969 L-88/ZL-1 (which basically use a 68 valve). This style muffler attaches to the valve by a spring clamp/retainer. For these valves, the muffler is designed to be a replaceable part.

The GM #3938790 muffler was used on a variety of passenger car and truck applications, but not Corvette. As far as I know, it is also a replaceable type muffler assembly.

All 1969 Corvettes, except L-88/ZL-1, use a diverter valve with an integral, crimped-on muffler of GM #7029199 for small blocks and GM #7029298 for big blocks (except L-88/ZL-1). The muffler component of these valves is not designed to be serviced seperately and no SERVICE part was ever available from GM for it.
