1956 rear end

Can someone tell me if a 3:55 ratio rear end assemblly (pumpkin) that came out of a 1955 passenger car is the same for a Corvette. Seller states that it will fit a Chevrolet from 1955 to 1964, and a Corvette 1956 to 1962.

The pumpkin will interchange. If you could find a used one with posi-trac and the gear ratio desired it will work. I once broke the posi-trac in a 63 Chevy SS and since a 55 pumpkin happened to be easily available and free I used it.

Yes, it will fit. Please note that a positrac unit might not fit and axles will be too long.
