    2000 Engine Removal

One of my friends bought a engine and tranny out of a wrecked/burned 2000. The engine and trans are still in the burned out frame. We want to remove the motor and tranny and put it in an eighty model coupe. Will it fit? I have not seen the motor/tranny/frame, but he tells me that he doesn't see how the engine/trans bolts to the frame. Is it so different from the C3 application? What is the process for removing the unit?

I don't see how that would work in a 1980 vette. The C5 transmission is mounted in the rear of the car.

OK...I should have known that...We want to use the motor. How much trouble is it to use the motor in the 80 body? Does it mount in the car the same way? How much is the 6 speed tranny worth?

the best deal is to get a camaro or firebird with the LS-1 engine as the trans is behind the engine. corvette fever had a article on installing a LS-1 in a older corvette.
