C1 leaf spring front bracket

I am amazed at the design of the bracket and pin, having had to saw the blasted thing to save the spring leaf. On one side, the large head of the pin and its' hole in the bracket were smooth with a significant gap.
My questions: are all the reproductions equal in quality? Is there a replacement that avoids what seems a predictable problem of stripping the pin-head?

The replacement (reproductions) are made in two pieces from Semi truck components and do not appear as originals. Your best bet here is to locate a pair of good used originals.

Hey Doc, we're talking about the PIN that goes through the bracket. Big round head on one end about 1 1/2 inch in diameter, 3/8 inch thick with a serrated circumference. Length about 3 1/2 inches with 3/4 inch of thread on the end.

I think the reproduction BRACKET is a very good piece. The PIN stinks.
