I am looking for a vacuum fitting for the intake manifold of my 80 vette, the one which supplies vacuum to the headlights. My local GM dealer said the part is discontinued and I can't seem to locate any vendors who have it. Can anyone help me locate one?
I THINK that 80s use an intake manifold vacuum fitting which has 4 ports on it. If so, that fitting is still available from GM under GM #355786. The problem is that this fitting GM lists for $47.06. If the threads in your intake manifold for the fitting are 3/8-18 "Dryseal" type threads, this is the one you require.
If your intake manifold threads are 1/8" NPT and you require a single port fitting, that fitting is also still available from GM under GM #1369465 for $3.33 GM list. I don't think that this is the one you need, though.
Eric, I'm sure you would be able to get a used one of these from any of the major '68-'82 Corvette Dismantlers such as Contemporary Corvette in Bristol,PA or Michigan Corvette Recyclers in Michigan. May have to go through Yahoo Yellow pages to get phone number.
