"56 Intake Manifold

Is there only one correct intake manifold for my 56 210 hp motor or is there an early and late manifold? There is a discrepancie in my intake number compared to the book but remember inquiring once and someone told me mine was correct as it was one of the last produced. The number on mine is 3866922. All of my books are at the restorers so I do not have the correct number at hand. Does anyone have it handy? Thanks!

The most likely intake manifold used for your application was GM casting #3735448. Alternatively, GM casting #3837109 was used. To be honest, I really doubt that any of the latter castings were used, but some folks seem to think so.

Your current GM #3866922 manifold was originally used for 1965 year model 283s and 327s with 220 hp and 250 hp, respectively, across all Chevrolet model lines. It was also used in SERVICE as the casting used for many other applications.
