    66 convertible top

i'm finishing a frame on restoration of a 66 roadster, the garage was cold and when i opened the convertible the window on the convertible cracked, about ten inches long, is there a way to replace the window or does the entire top need to be replaced, thanks

If your top is in otherwise good condition, a top shop can replace the window by sewing in a new one. As a matter of prcaticality, the labor would be the same as installing a new top, and a new top is not a lot more expensive that they would probably charge for a window. If you install a new top yourself, you can probably do that for less than a shop would charge to replace the window. I know of no way to repair the window in place. You can probably do a temporary repair with some clear shipping tape.

      Joe,
Same thing happened to me. I called my ins. co and they paid for the new top and complete weather stripping plus installation. I couldn't believe it seeing the damnage was self inflicted but who am I to argue. It's worth a try.
