I have fought for three hours to get the corbin clamp on the 3/4" heater hose at the water pump to no avail. Has anybody had this problem, and did it turn out to be the hoses or the corbin clamp? The clamp will not open enough to slide over the sealing ridge. My guess is that the hose has too thick a wall thickness. The clamps are paragon and the hoses are CC. Thanks, John

Re: 60 Heater Hoses
John, Do you have the angled fitting on the water pump? (30 deg or so, I think). If not, the clamp will hit the water pump an dbe difficult or impossible to install. If you do have it, try installing the clamp over the fitting and then start the hose over the nipple. You can sort of "walk" the clamp to where you want it. A little vasoline or oil , etc. on the hose will help if it's real tight.- Top

Re: Got same problem!
I pulled my old original corbin clamps out of the attic and found that they would not even fit over the hose. Went to the parts store and got a peice of 3/4" heater hose just now and it measures 1.025" OD and the "Reproduction" hose measures 1.125"!!! NO WONDER! Unless someone can tell me who makes Repro hoses that are the right size, then I will take lacquer thinner and remove the markings from the new Gates hose and tak the point hit. Thanks, John- Top

Re: 60 Heater Hoses
Loren, tried that as well . Wasted 3 hours trying to get this hose secured but finally gave up. Talked to Dr. Rebuild, and Geoffrey says that the original O.D. range per the GM drawings was 1.03-1.09. My CC hose measures 1.125, so that seems to be the problem. I am going to order new hose material from the good doctor next week! Thanks, John- Top
