    fuel tank replacement or repair

Hi Folks, I've got a 74 ragtop that is very original. I am replacing the exhaust system so I thought before I weld the mufflers on I should drop the tank (and get the sticker!) and either replace the tank, (I'ts not leaking, but does have surface rust)or use one of those products that is supposed to seal the inside. I just dont want to waste my time. A while back I replaced the tank on my 69 BB, it went pretty smoothly. Whats your opinion?? Thanks Ray Greene

My opinion is that, if it were me, I'd replace the tank. A fuel tank is a critical, SAFETY related item. If it was anything but perfect, I'd replace it. The exact reproduction replacement tanks available from Quanta make it an even easier choice, in my mind.

I BOUGHT A GAS TANK FROM QUANTA. IT WAS A PERFECT REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL. IT WAS REALLY IMPRESSIVE THAT IT WAS TOTALLY IDENTICAL. IT'S NOT WORTH HAVING THE OLD ONE WELDED. ERIC
