Were the original factory production exhaust header pipes of a welded or "flared" configuration where they went from 2" to 2 1/2" on a 67 327/350HP?

For 1967, the reduction was accomplished by swaging ("flaring", as you say)of the pipe. The welded reductions were a later, SERVICE replacement design. The welded reductions may have been used on some C3s with 2-1/2" exhaust, though.
