I have a 76 Stingray and wanted to see if anyone could confirm a part number for me. I took the alternator off and am going to have it rebuilt. The part number is 1102474 61A 5G29-12VNEG. Could someone help me decipher that number? It appears that 5G29 is a date code and means 12 Volt Negative ground. Is the actual part number 1102474? Thanks for any help!
5G29 is the date code of 1975 July 29th- very early car, right? 76 production started in Aug 75. Altern. usually were produced a month or so before the cars' build date.
Thanks for the help Bob. I have seen somewhere else that this looks like an early built car. I think it was the seatbelt label. However, I do not have the build sheet. I suspect it is still on the fuel tank. Thanks again!
