60 Heater Hoses Update

A good friend and fellow board poster Tom Wander brought some DR Rebuild hoses by my place today so I could get my car finished for a show, and what a difference! The good Doctor's hoses are a much better fit than the CC hoses. The 3/4" hose is almost .100" smaller in OD, and the 5/8" hose is almost.070" smaller in OD. They fit under the butterfly clamp better, fit through the support under the generator better, and fit all the nipples better. The only down side of them is that the Corbin clamps that CC and Paragon sell are too big to fit them tight, so I had to replate and reuse my originals. I would recommend buying clamps from the doctor as I am sure that his clamps are a good match for his hoses. My original clamps would not even fit over the CC hoses, and even the new clamps would not slide over the nipples once the hoses are installed.
If anyone wishes to acquire some "almost Correct" hoses I will be glad to send them to you! John

John, I agree. I just installed the Doc's hoses and they look, feel, smell, and fit perfectly. My only problem was I need to cut a little off the 3/4" hose to get a proper length fit but that's better than having to add length.

Bob, you are exactly right. The only other downside is that I had to increase the size of the hole in thew firewall slightly to allow the oversize hose pass through the grommet and now have a loose fit at that grommet. By the way, I hunted forever trying to find the grommet for the 3/4" hose and had given up when I discovered the doctor stocks it, he must be the only vendor selling one.
