I am about to put 409 S/S off road exhaust pipes with welded aluminum mufflers on my 1965. I'm purchasing from Allen's, since they seem to be the most close to originals. I am curious what, if any, deductions I will receive for having this exhaust system.Thank you, Henry

Re: judging exhaust
There's a STANDARD DEDUCTION for stainless steel pipes, and also alum. mufflers.I I think 50%, maybe 75% for both.If there are configuration differences also there may be more. (pipes that are not mandrel-bent at the curves etc.)- Top

Re: judging exhaust
Stainless steel is the largest deduct. The mufflers and the pipes and hangers and brackets, and tip etc. are all judged independently. I believe there is less deduct for aluminized pipes than "stainless". In reality if you can have original hangers, tips, etc., and the pipes and mufflers are all stainless , the deduct would only be about 50% of 25 originality points(25 for condition as well)- Top
