I have a 62 Fuelie I have had for about a year. When driving it at rmp above 2700 it gets jerky and sounds like it is misfiring. The FI is very original and I didnt know if there are any common problems/ parts that wear out and my cause this problem. I replaced the filter and that had no effect. It revs in nuetral fine. The engine is also fresh. Any suggestions appreciated, I am new the FI arena.

Re: 62 Fuelie
Sounds like ignition and not fuel but it could be fuel. You may want to check for cracks in you distributor cap or burned spot in one of your plug wires. What shape is your distributor in?
Fuel distribution issues may create an issue like that (not enough fuel to the injection unit)- Top

Re: 62 Fuelie
Todd,
It sounds like an ignition problem to me . Don't tear into the injector until your positive that your points ,plugs, wires , and valve lash are up to snuff. I've been driving my F.I. 62 almost 30 years and every problem that I've had over the years was ignition or cam related. It's tempting to blame the unit but I've found them to be very dependable over time as long as their kept clean and all vaccuum connections are leak free. Take your time and good luck. Re: 62 Fuelie
Dale,
It's over 100K but I'm not sure cause I had no odometer for a long time . It was retired to weekend or pleasure use in the late 80s and I think that's worse than the daily driving. If I remember correctly the only true F.I. problems were a leaky high pressure pump seal , one bad cranking signal valve (real smokey)and a couple of times I had cracked nozzles block hoses and finally learned to check em every once in a while cause they go bad on the surface that faces the intake and can't be seen. The hot restart problem has always been there but one or two blips of the throttle and all's well again. Oh yea ! I had to replace the distributer seals once . That's it ! All in all I think the general did a good job on these cars. I'll email you a picture . Later Rich- Top
