is GM# 16088740 top dash speaker for 68/74 vette

can anyone tell me if gm# 16088740 front speaker is correct for 68 or 74 vette. it is a delco part and says 10 ohm. i also have 2 others that look physically the same and are not the same part # but are 4 ohm. anyone know whats right or which one at least will work?

Geno, I believe there are 2 speakers. I don't know the GM part #, but I have some original 1971 speakers. They still mounted in the original dash pad, and are stamped 7312421, 466112 & 10 ohm, in Black ink. Dave

Geno the 68 Corvette did not have dash speakers. The 68 speakers are located behind the kick panels.

Yes, 68-69 used kick panel mounted speakers and these were 4 X 10 size. 70-76 used upper dash panel mounted speakers and these were 4 X 6 size. ALL 68-76 Corvette radio speakers are 10 OHMS impedence, though. Several different part numbers may have been used over the years in PRODUCTION and SERVICE, however. The best ID is the size and the impedence rating. Also, most Corvette speakers used green speaker lead wire.
