My brother and I are refurbishing his '73 454 that hasn't moved in 16 years.
The car has 34k miles and is all original except for one small problem...in 1976
he had the original motor pulled and put in an LS6 engine assembly. The original motor is long gone.
Please, no comments, I gave him mine long ago.
But, while the engine is out getting rebuilt, I'm in a quandry over the original brass radiator. My inclination is to have it re-furbished and re-used. If the radiator proves to be usable, how does the original configuration radiator compare in cooling capcity with a Dewitt's? Silly as it sounds, we're trying to keep the configuration as original as possible in spite of the engine. But if there would be a clear and significant improvement in cooling with the Dewitt's, then that might be the way to go.
Any thoughts?
