    GM vs. Repro T-Top Weatherstripping

I am planning to replace the t-top weatherstripping on my '72. In researching various vendors and pricing, I have noticed that there is a very large difference in pricing between the GM replacement product (~$130/ea) and the various reproduction products (~$90/pair).

My primary question is: Is the GM replacement actually worth $170 more to fix both tops???

Secondly, if there are good quality repros out there, which ones are recommended? I was actually leaning towards the ones from Dr. Rebuild, but I thought I would ask here first. How about Corvette Rubber's products?

    Mark,

Odds are, Dr. Rebuild is selling the Corvette Rubber pieces.

To the best of my knowledge only two aftermarket sources are making these: Corvette Rubber and Metro Moulded parts.

I think the CR piece is closer to the originals, but I don't think it is exact based on my inspection. The appearance of the "skin" is different.

The current available GM pieces are the part numbers for Corvettes of the later 1970's, not early like 70-72. I do not know how they differ, as I haven't yet had the desire to fork out big bucks for them either just to compare.
