    65 Horns identification/fix or replace

The Horn on my 65 are bad, I have taken them out to try and match up the # on the horns but I can't find anything to compair the number with to see if they are NOS or replacements. Second If they are NOS where can I have them repaired or where can I get good replacements at. Thanks Ray

Horn compliment in '65 was 9000487 (LH) and 9000488 (RH). Below the P/N emboss on the rear trumpet ears (487/488) will be a date code like 5C2, meaning 65, March 2nd.

Horns are unique to Corvette and non-functional 'cores' can bid into the $100 range. Horns are restored by a number of folks who advertize in NCRS Driveline including Dennis Portka. Last I checked his rate was $150 to restore.

      Ray,

------Just a small point but your horns are not NOS,they are original.NOS in this instance would mean new old stock,or new in the box, never installed.Hope I have not offended..........Bill S
