As I restore the box I noticed there are no markings on my box. I am pretty sure that origionally it must of had several diffrent markings, also the steering coupler and column shaft must of had marks to assure that the assy was installed correctly. Just want to get it as close as I can and any help or pics would be appreciated. Thad LeJeune 32187

Re: 1970 steering box inspection marks
Thad,
I've yet to see many unrestored 70-72's with markings, at least as I could tell. I've seen some restored cars with them, but never sure how correct that would be.
Terry McManmon has always said that our cars are not as "colorful" in the chassis department as the midyears. I think its true here too.
I'd leave it black or natural (depending on how it came) and leave it at that.
