    '67 Steering Column

Well I'm getting my '67 steering column back together and I just received a used plastic cover that covers up the collapsible portion of the column. How do you secure this cover it in place?

    Re: '67 Steering Column

The two halves have a groove inside the steering wheel end that fits over a ring on the collar.
Each side of the bottom half has a recess for a #6 phillips head, black phos machine screw, 7/8" of threads, that attaches upward into the top half. (Any longer will protrude up through the top and/or crack it). That's it! Probably alot information than you needed.
Incidentally, that cover is not painted, it remains in the natural plastic finish, sort of a dark chocolate brown/Black, not the crisper semi-gloss black of the collar.
There may also be smoke streaks running through it.
