I'm looking to replace the exhaust system on our 82 the Technical Manual indicates that the front and rear should be stainless steel. But all the systems I've ever seen have been rusted pretty bad. So unless GM is using a new type of stainless I'm not familiar with it wasn't stainless. Does anyone have advise as to what the front and rear Y-pipe material was? I'm sure the mufflers were aluminized but if I'm wrong please correct me. Thanks in advance.
