I was concerned about the quality of my tank sticker and I was worried that it might continue to deteriorate. So I took it to a local printing company and let their graphics guy work on it, to see if he can make me a copy for my records. He got a good enough image that I can know read some of the things that I couldn't before. I noticed he used a standard 1200 dpi HP scanner to generate the image and Adobe Photoshop to manipulate it. I took my sticker home, put it on my HP scanner and made an image. I then used my Photoshop program and was able to change the saturation and colors enough that the sticker is almost as legible as the day it was put on the car. COOL! Of course, the manipulated photocopy is slightly yellow from the Photoshop work but it is clearly legible. All this from a guy (me) who doesn't know how to use most of the features on Photoshop.
I would be happy to share the before and after results with anyone who wants to see it. Off line email me and I will include the copies.
