Why does parts dealer "x" sell C1 spring liner and hardware kits for $127.55, while dealer "y" sells the kits for $67.95, both advertised as "correct"? Is one kit 100% perfect and the other 50%, or what? I HAVE to replace mine, since the originals are actually missing chunks. Hey, daily driving in snow etc. will do that, which it did until '67, when it was retired with 100+ k on the clock.
Confused about spring liners...

Re: Why not call the vendors and ask?
10 years ago I was in search for the best liner's. Country Corvette in Kansas had just put out a liner that was right on the money. I do not know whether they are still in business. I haven't seen them advertise in a long time. A friend bought a set of liner's from Chicago Corvette back in those days and they were advertised as correct but that was not so. I think I paid 1$150.00 for the ones I received.- Top

Check the archives for "1955 Spring Liner Material", posted by Michael Sabrsula, on March 6, 2001; this thread describes what the correct construction/material should be, so you can ask specific questions of the vendors.- Top
