When I got my engine back from the rebuilder, they had replaced the ferrule fitting above the oil filter cannister where the oil line goes with a blind pipe plug. I am unable to find the correct fittings. The block is a 2-bolt 427. Should the configuration be a 5/8 ferrule fitting in the block with a 5/16 threaded hole for the oil line fitting?
Ed
Ed, If I remember correctly the fitting that goes in the block gets an adaptor threaded in first then the oil line fitting threads into the adaptor fitting.
I also have a 427, 4-Bolt. Have looked a little for the adaptor that screws into the block which accepts the oil line fitting. The one in my block is larger that some earlier years I have seen. I have found there are at least three different sizes. Have seen photos and I think Paragon has at least 3 shown in the catalog. I did order one from Long Island before researching and it was too small for my BB. I would still like to understand the size differences, my 427/435 is an Oct. 66 Eng. and its adaptor appears larger than other BB,s I have seen of earlier years. Hope that helps. Joel 67 L71
