Before I install the AC Delco unit I just bought from Long Island Corvette Supply(6428065),is there some way I can test the unit to be sure it operates properly? Thanks.

Re: 67 fuel tank sender unit.
Long subject, lots in the archives on this thread. Basic resistance of the sender should vary in the 0-90 ohm range based on float swing-arm postion. But, for a full functional test you have to re-create the unique Whetstone bridge circuit topology of the gas gauge system that was used only on mid-year cars. This requires a bit of EE knowledge, a known good donor gauge, a wiring 'nest' with dual ground (at gauge as well as at tank sender), and a power supply.
Just stop by the shop in Denver and I'll run 'er up for you. Other than that, you can either do a gross functionality test (ohm meter across sender) or go for broke--install sender and see what she does. BTW, diagnostics of gauge vs. items to troubleshoot is in the shop manual/chassis service manual.- Top
