New lower ball joint grease fitting popping out.

Hello, I have a 72 corvette that my wife and i just installed a new front end rebuild kit. Everything went good but the lower ball joint grease fittings popped out when we tried to put grease in it. It like the grease fitting thread is too small for the ball joint hole. All the other grease fittings went in fine (tie rods, upper ball joints) All were self tapping threads. anyone have any suggestions how to keep the grease in the lower ball joints? Thanks in advance. Eric

Did you mix up the smaller tierod end grease fitting with the one for the ball joint which is a larger ninety degree one? My front end kit had some mixed parts in it ie some extra, some missing from their packaging.

James, This is the one that is the 90 degree fitting. I made sure i kept them all in their seperate packages until we installed them. Thanks Eric

Eric, Your mid year should be using a straight fitting with a self threading 1/4-28 fine thread in ball joints and tie rod ends.

Sorry not a mid year but the thread size is the same in late model.
