I am collecting the correct parts to restore my front suspension in my 67 big block coupe. Upon a close examination of the upper a arms last night to learn more about the configuration of the bushings, I discovered that the rubber in one of the bushings has totally disintegrated. This probably accounts for the occasional creak or pop I have heard from the front end over the last six months. My question is how serious this might be. If I continue to drive the car, am I risking more serious damge or worse? I don't want to start the suspension work until I have all of the correct parts to complete the job but I don't want to be foolish either.

Re: Upper A Arm Bushings
John,
Stop driving as the control arms can get damaged. They are probably pretty pricey to replace these days. Many years ago I drove around a car with a bad lower control arm bushing and the job ended up costing 3X as much because of the wear. And that was when the parts were still commonly available.
