    69 seat belts: shoulder belts?

    Hello all,

As my 69 convertible gets closer to completion, I was wondering if there is any way to determine if a car came with shoulder belts in addition to the lap belts. My car doesnt have the original seats or bill of sale/tank sticker. It has the riveted plate under the body that i was told ALL vettes came with, so this isnt a determining factor. Is this true? Appreciate any help.

Kenny- hope to have the 69 on the road by warm weather!

Cars with original shoulder belts had guiding rings on top of the seat back. You should find a picture in the AIM.

We are not sure that all '69s had the guide on the seat. Revision team members reported that they found original cars with and without the guide. Quoting from the newly revised judging guide: "Some 1969 shoulder harness-equipped cars have a chrome C-shaped guide for the shoulder belts mounted to the top outer poart of the seat back, partially under the headrest."

If anyone has new/additional information, please forward it to me or Chuck Berge, the 1968-69 team leader. We are constantly working on revisions as new information comes to light.
