How does it work? It's mostly theoretical. Outside air is supposed to be able to flow throughout the cabin from the dash vents and out the rear deck vents with the windows closed on air cars. It's mostly folly and marketing, though. I have a '72 air coupe and I have no doubt that if there was a methane gas expulsion of human origins, it would remain in the cabin.:) -

Right/Wrong....
Astrovent system WAS marginal, but I think you've got a 'cockpit' error in your response.... You say your '72 has A/C. Go look at your AIM and you'll find the C60 option forced the removal (non-installation) of the vac actuated rear vent door and replaced it with a fixed 'plug' to render Astro Ventillation dysfunctional in all A/C equipped Shark cars. Small wonder you don't see the effect advertized on the side glass....Comment
