I can't tell you how many of your exterior/interior color combination were produced. Brands Hatch Green was the 2nd post popular exterior color for 1971 and 3,445 were produced. It was only available with black or dark green interior. In 1971, black was probably the most popular interior color so I'd guess that the ratio between black and green was likely about 2 to 1. So, a sheer "guesstimate" would be that about 1,200 Brands Hatch Green exterior with dark green interior cars were produced.
As far as the LS-5 engine goes, we pretty much know the precise number of those made-----5,097.

we must've chopped up a one of a kind COPO car then, down at the shop, eh, Joe!
A one owner '71 LS-5, convertible with trim tag clearly reading Brands Hatch Green and Saddle Leather interior....
Car went BEGGING for a second owner for eight years because it was GREEN and nobody locally wanted a, yuk, green Corvette despite the fact it was a completely stock orignal, unhit, BB roadster with 39K miles, factory orignal motor virtually untouched....
Finally, a local banker bought it for a song ($5500) based on the premise he could have it his way--front and rear fender flares, 502 printed engine, custom suspension, Vintage Air add-in, late 70's seating, color change to canary yellow, brown soft top, and chrome EVERYTHING under the hood. Broke my heart to see the deal come down, but, hey, it's the owner's asset to do with as he/she pleases and nobody in the serious restoration/preservation sphere bellied up to champion the car. So, the deal's done. She's canary yellow and nearing out-the-door completion. Anyone interested in an untouched 2nd month of production LS-5 engine (pan to air cleaner)?
All this )(**&^ because the car was that 'rare' Brands Hatch green from the factory with that 'impossible' saddle leather interior.... BTW, the tank sticker was in place and it was NOT a COPO car!

Joe,
My first Corvette was a 1971 that I bought used in 1975. It was Brandshatch green with a tan (beige) interior and it had 56000 miles on it. I'm pretty certain that the interior and the exterior were the original colors.

That could very well be the case. Brands Hatch Green with a saddle or tan interior would be a very complimentary combination. I certainly don't think that it would take a Central Office Production Order to get one built that way.

Where the heck are you located Jack? Folks around there must REALLY hate green! Where I'm from, 1 owner big block convertibles don't languish in anyones lot, shop, or driveway with a sell price under $6,000. What was the condition? Crashed, burned?
By the way, I own a fathom green with saddle 69 small block coupe with matching drivetrain, and the purchase price was north of $14,000 in #3+ condition.
Great story, but April 1st is a couple weeks away!

You're right--it was a striking color combo. I tried like the devil to find a 'champion' to buy/restore that car! But, what can I say--utter defeat; it was the 'green' that turned folks off. Maybe all Corvettes ARE red....
