I am finishing the detail on my frame getting ready for putting the body back on. I ordered a stencil from Quanta and it has a date on it. Did 1967s also get a hand written date put on the frame? I know that 65-66 did but they did not have the date included in the stencil. If it does need one how do I calculate the date or should it match the date on the stencil. Assembly date of my car was March 17 (no need to send any birthday cards)thanks
Keith
Are you sure the stencil has a date on it? As far as I know, and I am sure some of the other, more experienced chaps can help me here, the 1967 frame was treated the same as the other midyear frames. NORMALLY, the frame was stencilled on the right side, upside down, in white "ink", just forward of the #3 body mount point. The stencil contained the frame part number, and a control number, but did not contain a date. There was a "pull date", or the date when the frame was removed from inventory, written in grease pencil on the right rail, just aft of the #1 body mount point. The pull date was generally the day of production, or the day before.
