    Body Lift

I am ready to lift the body from my 1965 roadster. All bolts, straps and cable mounting clamps have been removed. Nolad Adams body lift work book states that the process can be completed with doors on or doors off. From those that have lifted a roadster body, is it better to remove or leave the doors mounted? Is there any other processes or tricks that I should know?
    Thanks for any help!

Took the doors off first. They are probably coming off anyways and it is easier to remove them with the body on the frame as you want to limit the amount of torque that you apply to the body when it is unsupported by the frame.

            Ray,

I have always left the doors ON for roadsters and OFF for coupes. Leaving the doors ON for a roadster will provide for less flex until supported on a body dolly. With a coupe, the solid roof will provide the same bracing effect. Just my $.02

I took the doors off of my 69 vert during the body lift. I did bolt in some angle iron between the pillars. One side at the upper door hinge location. The other side at the latch post. This was to control flex while eleminating weight. I was suprised at how much the doors weigh. It was recommended to remove as much of the interior as possible first. I wish I hadn't. Now I have parts EVERYWHERE. Next time I would just remove the hood, doors, and top.

                    Ray,
I agree with Don, I have a 65 roadster and when I did the body lift I left the doors on, it keeps the body rigid and supported. I didn't have any problems at all.
                    My 2 cents worth.

                    Good luck,
                    Floyd

                        Thanks!
The posting are about even for doors-on vs. door-off so I guess I can't go wrong!

                        Thanks for all the advice!
