    Wiper vacuum pod ?

From what I can tell I have 3 vacuum pods that control the wiper door.
The big one on the passenger side needs a seal, so thats easy.
Also seem to have a 3 port valve under the door. What is it. Looks like maybe the park switch?
On the drivers side by the brake booster I have another valve. 3 main and 1 secondary if I remember right. What's that one called. I can't seem to find it in my parts catalog..
    Thanks, Brad

Think the one by your master cylinder is called relay valve. You should have two just like it under the front nose for the headlamps.

Hey, Brad, do a favor and get yourself a copy of the $2-4 phamphlet offered by most Corvette catalog houses, "Troubleshooting Your Vacuum System" (Dr. Rebuild, Corvette Central, Mid America). Also, check the archieves for a myraid of related prior posts on this general subject.

Once you understand the vacuum circuit topology and the specific terminology of various components, the 'mystery' reveals itself. Short of this, we're between a rock and a hard place to help with 'big thingy down there', Etc....

Not trying to be cute, but this is a real COMMON problem area on Shark cars. If you try to pay someone to fix it, you're probably throwing good money after bad because the guys who did this work are mainly retired now and there are a lot of shade tree folks out there who service by reading chicken entrails and doing voodoo dances.

Once you understand the flow of the what's what and have a basic knowledge of troubleshooting, it's just a matter of how many beers + how many slices of pizza it takes to put 'baby' back to design center. BUT, with so much prior owner witchcraft prevalent, it's REAL hard to give more than basic directions by e-mail because a LOT of cars have been 'butchered' by novices who went before and you simply can't trust 'reports' of what's up on a given car....

The "Dr. Rebuild" diagnostic pamphlet/system schematic is far and away the most accurate explanation of how the system is supposed to work, and their parts/kits for each year car aren't too shabby either.

Brad you mentioned that the vacuum cannister that opens and closes the wiper door assembly needs a seal. Years ago there was an aricle in Vette Vues about a very simple and extremely inexpensive replacement seal for this vacuum cannister. If the seal you are talking about is the one that fits on the back side of the cannister and seal on the rod and is secured in the cannister the fix is to go buy a baby bottle nipple for the old style baby bottles. When I did mine I bought the silicone nipple rather than the rubber one. Then you can use a used shell casing that is smaller than the rod to punch a hole in the nipple end for the rod to pass through. The base of the nipple will fit perfect in the cannister. With the accordian syle dust protector over the rod like it came from the factory, no one will know about the baby bottle nipple unless the push back the dust protector. I did this to my 70's cannister years ago and the silicone nipple is still working great.
