does anyone know how the inner fiberglass shield was affixed to the outer heat shield for the side exhaust on a 67 bb?

If I remember correctly they are bonded with some type of adhesive. I know in time they can come off probably from the heat. -

-----Its some sort of epoxy glue that mixes up to a gray color.You should be able to see it squeezing out from between the two peices on an original set!..........Bill SComment

i thought that it was an epoxy glue, but I was wondering what to use to get an original fit. I need to replace the fiberglass insulator for the shield on one side with a new one, and I don't know what to affix it with to make it original/or even stay. (I would think that any normal epxoy would break loose when you went over bumps.Comment
