There is a blanket of pink fiberglass insulation against the upper firewall inside the car above the heater box. Insulation appears to extend from the pasenger outer side to just beyond the wiper motor on the driver's side. While taking the four hex head screws out that attach the wiper motor to the firewall, some of this insulation was damaged. It actually covers over the motor and it appears my motor was never removed before. This insulation is 35 years old and easily tore as I moved it to get access to the motor screws. I'm assuming that it is there to thermally insulate the passenger compartment from engine heat? Should I be concerned about the insulation tears and try to repack the torn insulation back against the wiper motor after I refurbish it, maybe by using a spray on glue or something.
