65 327/350 help with engine reassembly

Are aluminum valve covers suspossed to have the spacers under the bolts?
I can not find them in the AIM and would like some clairification.
The expansion staps are the painted and if so what color?I had to order some and the are plain steel.
The intake shows to have one stud (mine had none) and I am not for sure of the correct hole looking at the manual is it first or second?
I am putting back the engine and trying to put it as correct as possible

    Jimmy -

There are no spacers under the attaching bolts for the aluminum valve covers. Could you be more specific about the "intake stud" - what it's for, where it's located, what A.I.M. sheet you're looking at?

The intake bolts came with one stud and it loos to be an atachment site for the fuel filter. mine did not have this so I am not sure. It goes on the passenger side up front in the first or second hole it looks like.

The bolt/stud for the fuel filter attachment goes in the second hole from the front; use thread sealer on all the intake bolts to prevent oil "weeping" spots around the bolt heads.

On '62s (maybe more), there is a stud in the forwardmost position on the driver's side for the hold-down for the overflow tank.
